Collections Officer

Collections Officer – Job Description About your new role Working alongside the Collections Supervisor for an Australian Debt Collection Agency, you will use an open communication style to engage within the team. You will be working in a target driven environment, managing a high volume of inbound and outbound calls on overdue collection accounts. This role requires persistence and resilience to have those challenging conversations and assist debtors with their debts owed to our clients. Duties will be (but not limited to) • Outbound calling • Inbound calling • Emailing both clients and debtors • Payment negotiations and processing • Investigative work and lead generation • Complaints and objection handling. Competencies and Experience • Previous experience in a similar role (2+ years). • Passion for results and a KPI driven environment. • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal). • The ability to 'think outside the box'. • Willingness to learn and take on feedback. • Persistence and resilience. • Intermediate to advanced skills with Excel (Vlookups, IF functions, Pivot Tables) and the wider Microsoft Suite. • Experience using Debtcol will be advantageous. • Experience using AWS will be advantageous. • Bookkeeping experience or knowledge will be advantageous. Essential Criteria • Availability to work full-time. • Ability to manage your own workload. • Own internet. • Own computer. • Own headset for calls. • Contingencies in place to circumvent brownouts and internet interruptions.
