Professional Services Project Engineer

We are looking for a highly experienced and technically proficient Professional Services Project Engineer to join our growing remote team. This is a client-facing position where you will lead the design, deployment, and migration of complex IT infrastructure projects for a diverse range of clients.
You will be responsible for executing high-impact projects involving networking, virtualization, server implementations, and cloud migrations. This role requires deep technical expertise, strong project management skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, remote environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and execute end-to-end IT infrastructure projects, including network and server implementations, migrations, and upgrades.
• Design and deploy complex networking environments, including LAN, WAN, VPN, VLAN, and SD-WAN architectures.
• Implement and manage virtualization platforms using VMware ESXi and/or Microsoft Hyper-V.
• Plan and execute Microsoft 365 and Exchange Online migrations, including SharePoint Online and Teams.
• Configure and manage core Windows Server roles and services (AD, DNS, DHCP, GPO).
• Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including project plans and client-facing materials.
• Act as a liaison between clients, vendors, and internal teams to ensure successful project outcomes.
• Provide advanced technical support and serve as an escalation point during project execution.
   

Requirements

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of experience in infrastructure and systems engineering within project-based or consulting environments.
• Expertise in enterprise networking:
• Hands-on experience with routers, switches, and firewalls (Cisco, Meraki, Fortinet, or equivalent)
• Deep understanding of Layer 2/3 switching, VLANs, ACLs, static routing, and STP
• Site-to-site and remote VPN configuration and management
• Knowledge of security best practices, network segmentation, and traffic shaping
• Strong background in virtualization (VMware ESXi, Microsoft Hyper-V).
• Proficiency with Windows Server (2012–2025) and Active Directory administration.
• Demonstrated experience in Microsoft 365, including Exchange Online, Teams, Intune, and SharePoint.
• Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation and bulk operations.
• Excellent time management, documentation, and multitasking abilities.
• Strong communication skills, capable of leading client discussions and managing expectations.
   

Preferred Qualifications

• Industry certifications such as CCNA/CCNP, Fortinet NSE, VMware VCP, or Microsoft MCSA/MCSE.
• Experience working within a Managed Services Provider (MSP).
• Familiarity with professional services automation (PSA) tools like ConnectWise, Autotask, or similar.
• Knowledge of backup and disaster recovery tools such as Veeam, Acronis, or equivalent.
